New Delhi: Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, whose character in 1977 film 'Amar Akbar Anthony' was named after Goan musician Anthony Gonsalves, has mourned the demise of the composer.
   
"Anthony Gonsalves .. passes away .. talented musician with LP and on his name my character name for AAAnthony was put ..prayers !!," posted Bachchan on Twitter.
   
The 69-year-old actor collaborated with Kishore Kumar to sing 'My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves' which became a huge hit. The song was a tribute by Pyarelal to his violin teacher.
     
Gonsalves, who orchestrated music for several Hindi songs during the 50s and 60s contributed to hit films like 'Mahal', 'Naya Daur' and 'Dillagi', died in Panaji after a bout of pneumonia.
   
The end came last night at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, where he was admitted and undergoing treatment. He was 84.
