New Delhi: The three toppers in the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) Science results for 2012 hail from Begusarai and two of them happen to be siblings. The three toppers from the Begusarai district bagged over 90 percent marks in aggregate. While Piyush Kumar scored 92 percent, Ram Prawesh Kumar and Illa Kumari scored 90.6 and 90.4 percent marks respectively. Piyush and Illa are siblings. All the three toppers are from MRJDI College, Bisnupur, Begusarai.

According to the data released by the BSEB, a total of 3,43,898 students appeared in the examination this year out of which, 51.23 percent secured first division. 91.36 percent of the girl students passed the examination, an increase of 1 percent as compared to last year results.

Only five students from Patna figure in the merit list released by the BSEB.

While 95.08 percent students passed the examination in Rohtas, Gaya recorded a pass percentage of 94.76 percent, Jehanabad and Arwal 95.33 percent, Aurangabad 90.90 percent and Jamui 98.48 percent.

The Board conducts the examinations in all the three streams of arts, science and commerce. The results for arts and commerce streams are expected to arrive by June 7.
