New Delhi: In response to the worsening flood situation in Bihar, the Union Home Ministry has sent three teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to the affected area for rescue and relief operations. The contingent includes 17 boats and 107 special force personnel.

The floods which occurred due to release of water released in Sone and Ganga, has affected a population of nearly 4 lakh in Rohtas, Aurangabad, Bhojpur, Patna and Arwal districts of Bihar.

According to sources in the Ministry, 349 people were rescued in Aurangabad and Rohtas on Wednesday. 

It must be noted that five teams of NDRF comprising 105 personnel along with 16 boats are already deployed in other flood-affected districts of the state.
