Patna: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad on Sunday asked Bihar government to slash the sales tax on petrol to help ease the hardship faced by the common people due to hike in petrol price.

Talking to reporters here Prasad said the state government should give immediate relief to the people by slashing tax on petrol in Bihar.

RJD leader said the state government received Rs 16 per litre of petrol as tax and it should be reduced for common people.

Meanwhile, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan on Sunday asked the Centre and state government to reduce the tax on petrol by half.

Both Centre and state government should reduce respective share of tax on petrol which would help to ease people's problems.
