Patna: Bihar government has made arrangements to ensure security in Northeast-bound trains passing through the state, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Friday.
This was done as part of special vigilance to check any untoward incident following rumours of impending attacks on the trains, he said.
There has been no exodus of people of Northeast origin residing in Bihar nor any attack on Northeastern people residing in the state, he added.
Meanwhile, minority community members on Friday took out a silent march in Kishanganj district to protest against Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's alleged failure to check violence in that state and demanded his sacking.
The protesters led by the RJD MLA Akhtar-Ul Imam later submitted a memorandum to the district magistrate.
Addressing the protesters, Imam alleged that the violence in Assam was yet another example of violent incidents against the minorities during Congress rule in a state.
