Patna: The Bihar Assembly Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary on Friday suspended Independent MLA Jyoti Rashmi from Dehri in Rohtas district for five sittings from March 3–13 for violating the decorum of the House.

Parliamentary Affairs minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav objected to her action and use of unparlimentary word against Speaker Udai Narayan Choudhary and passed a resolution in the House seeking her suspension.

Jyoti Rashmi on Wednesday had entered the well of the House charging the police with falsely implicating her husband and former MLA Pradip Joshi from Dehri in an illegal mining case in Sasaram. She also demanded a CBI inquiry into the case.

The Speaker repeatedly requested Devi to return to her seat and maintain the Parliamentary traditions but she refused to relent.
