Patna: Despite Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s initiative to bring transparency in his governance by declaring the assets of politicians and bureaucrats, officials of the state government seem to have adopted lackadaisical approach as they are unwilling to give the details of their assets.

According to the instructions, the Group A, B and C officials of various departments were asked to declare their assets on the official website of the Bihar government by March 31, 2012.

In its report on February 14, the administrative authorities had said that this was a time-bound programme and that the list of the officials should have been ready by January 31 and displayed on the website.  However, by February 29 the details of the assets of the officials will be put on the website.

Details like name, designation, mobile number, job title would also be provided on the website.
