Bhagalpur/Motihari (Bihar): A Primary Agriculture Co-operative (PAC) chairman Mahesh Prasad Singh was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Jamalpur railway gumti in Birpur, the police said on Saturday.

Mahesh Prasad Singh was talking to railway employees at the gumti when two unidentified gunmen fired at him late last night, sources said.

Raids were on the catch the killers, sources said. Meanwhile an official report from Motihari said that a former PAC chairman Prem Pandey was shot dead at Babhnauli village in Govindganj in East Champaran district on Saturday morning.

Old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the killing.
