Patna: In a major development Nitish Kumar led NDA government of Bihar on Thursday approved a proposal that would pave way for a hefty increase in salaries and allowances of Cabinet rank ministers, state ministers and deputy rank ministers in the state. Government move is most likely to benefit chairmen, Deputy Chairmen of commissions, Boards including heads of Municipal Corporations.

After the decision comes into effect Cabinet rank ministers, state ministers including deputy rank ministers of the state will be entitled to a monthly salary package of Rs 25000 in place of Rs 8000.

Guest allowances of these ministers has also been hiked .Cabinet rank ministers would be entitled to a guest allowance of Rs 18,000 per month in place of Rs 10,000 earlier whereas allowance of state rank ministers has been hiked to Rs 17,500 in place of Rs 8,000  earlier. Also monthly allowance of deputy rank ministers has been hiked to Rs 17,000 from Rs 6,000 by Nitish government.

Those ministers who have not been allotted government flats will be paid 20 percent more as house allowances.

Apart from a land line telephone, ministers will be getting Rs 1,000 for recharging their mobile phones.
