Patna: Bihar Youth Congress activists led by its president Lalan Kumar on Monday burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to protest the alleged police excesses in the state.

Over 200 state Youth Congress activists brought out a procession to busy Dakbunglow roundabout in the state capital and burnt Chief Minister's effigy.

Youth Congress president Lalan Kumar alleged that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was making tall claims of establishing rule of law in Bihar while the police were committing excesses in the state.

Lalan Kumar Referred to an incident in Bagaha in West Champaran district when angry locals beat up a Deputy Superintendent of police and his bodyguard for allegedly mercilessly assaulting a shopkeeper Niranjan Patel on Sunday.

Kumar threatened that the State Youth Congress would intensify its agitation for making policemen behave properly instead of taking law into their hands, they should protect the law.
