New Delhi: Bikers showing dangerous acrobatic acts during religious events have now become a major challenge for the law and order situation in Delhi. Like previous years, this year too, peaceful celebrations on the eve of Shab-e-barat were disrupted by unknown motorcycle gangs who were showing off their stunts on the roads of the national capital causing acute inconvenience for the commuters.

More than 2000 unruly bikers did not only disrupt the celebrations by performing dangerous stunts on but they were also seen misbehaving with the women. This created a fear amongst other people. There was an atmosphere of absolute havoc in some parts of the city. However, the police personnel on duty were seen watching all this like mute spectators.

The officials have claimed that this year they had taken precautions to prevent such activities. According to a police official, pamphlets in Urdu were distributed, Muslim intellectuals were called and were instructed to spread awareness amongst the youth about the problems a common man faces due to the hooliganism caused by them every year. But that too of no avail.

The Delhi police are now taking special steps to increase the number of CCTV cameras in the capital. They are also planning to ban the entry of motorcyclists in the areas like Connaught Place and India Gate.
