Patiala: Former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Bir Devinder Singh on Tuesday resigned as chief spokesman of Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP), party sources said.

Singh, in a lengthy letter addressed to party president Manpreet Singh Badal, tendered his resignation, the sources said.

The resignation of Bir Devinder Singh came in the wake of Badal's recent statement in which he alleged that the leader wanted to quit the party as his shelf life in any party is about six months.
