Bhopal: The 121st birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar was celebrated in Madhya Pradesh with the main function held at his birth place in Mhow, near Indore.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his ministerial colleagues paid floral tributes at the statue of Ambedkar inside his grand memorial at Kali Paltan area of Mhow town.

Addressing a large gathering of Ambedkar's followers, Chouhan listed a number of measures taken by his government for welfare of the weaker sections of the society.

In the State capital here, a large number of people paid floral tributes at the Ambedkar statue at the Board Office Square since morning, including Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh and the State BJP President Prabhat Jha.

Reports of Ambedkar's birth anniversary being observed were also received from cities like Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Dewas, Hoshangabad, Sehore, Khandwa and Khargone among others.
