Pardes: For the very first time, Amrish Puri was seen in a positive role of NRI businessman whose mission to find a perfect bride for his son. The legendary song 'I Love My India' that was pictured on him also garnered huge praise.


Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge: In 1995 blockbuster film 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge', Amrish Puri played the epic role of a typical conservative father 'Chaudhury Baldev Singh' who wants his daughter Kajol to abide by rules and norms. Nobody can forget his character of Babuji in the film.

Karan-Arjun:  Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan starrer 1995 released film 'Karan-Arjun' witnessed Puri playing the role of Thakur Durjan Singh who mercilessly kills his relatives and  sons Karan and Arjun. Later, the sons are reborn to take the revenge. Durjan Singh remains alive as one of the iconic negative characters in the Indian film industry.


Nayak: In the movie, Amrish was seen playing the role of a corrupt Chief Minister Balraj Chauhan who cares about his vote bank. The self-centered CM was challenged by a TV journalist played by Anil Kapoor in the film. In an interview, the CM asks the journalist to take his seat for a day and it was then when the latter's fate changed. Truly, the movie is one of the most inspiring movies in Bollywood.

Nagina: The epic character of Bhairo Nath, a sadhu who is a master in controlling snakes could only be played by Amrish Puri. The commendable character of Puri added immense energy and climax to the film. In the film, he was a sadhu who aims to possess the 'mani'.
