The phenomenal singer was born on March 12, 1983 in Wazirabad, Pakistan. The singer then moved to Lahore and started to pursue his education. Many few know that Atif was all gaga about cricket. He aspired to be a cricketer one day but music was something he never thought of.

It was during his college time when he explored his singing talent and decided to grow further in this field. Atif decided to record the song 'Aadat' as part of a band 'Jal' from his pocket money unaware of the fact that one day the song will go viral like anything on internet.


However, the non existing artist carrying the right amount of passion and talent for music released his first album titled ' Jalpari' on 17th July, 2004. The album garnered a lot of praise and attention and elevated his stardom.

But the charismatic singer just did not stopped here. He realised that it was time for him to take his music overseas. He marked his Bollywood debut with the song 'Wo Lamhey' for the movie 'Zeher'. After the release of the movie, Atif's voice became instant hit in India.

Atif Aslam became the first Pakistani singer in India to be nominated for the most prestigious Indian Filmfare Awards two years in a row.
