1 Mughal-e-Azam (1960):

Mughal-e-Azam was a historical drama of the Mughal period when Akbar the emperor went into a conflict with his son Salim over his love affair with a courtesan. Dilip Kumar played the role of Prince Salim in this movie and brought a new dimension to the love scenes he enacted with Madhubala.

2 Daag (1952):

Dilip Kumar won the first ever Filmfare Award for the best actor category for his performance in the film. He played the role of a toy seller and got appreciations for his brilliant acting.

3 Madhumati (1958):

The famous film by Bimal Roy, starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayantimala was one of the earliest films based on reincarnation. The concept and acting by Dilip Kumar made this movie worth watching.

4 Ganga Jamuna (1961):

This was the only film produced by Dilip Kumar. The story set around an innocent man who is forced to become a dacoit. The role played by Dilip Kumar is considered as the best ever performance of the legendary actor.

5 Ram Aur Shyam (1967):

Known for his tragic roles, Dilip Kumar surprised all with his perfect comic timing in hit film Ram Aur Shyam. This movie also starred Waheeda Rehman and Mumtaz, making it a huge success at the box office.

6 Devdas (1955):

Based on the Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay's novel, the story is about a tragic lover played by Dilip Kumar. This is considered as one of his best performances. Devdas was also ranked Number 2 film on University of Iowa's List of Top 10 Bollywood movies.
