'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai'



A box office hit, 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbai', earned Randeep Hooda accolades from the viewers and critics as he played the character of  an 'Assistant Commissioner of Police' in the film. The movie starts with the suicide attempt of his character who later goes on to narrate the story behind the happenings of Bombay bombing and his inability to curb the power of a gangster Shoaib Khan played by Emran Hashmi. Bollywood Hungama deemed the movie as 'an outstanding cinematic experience'.

'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster'



Randeep Hooda in Tigmanshu Dhulia movie, 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster' played the character of 'Babloo' who is an assassin in the film and later falls for the wife of the Raja who he has to assassinate. Hooda played the role with an unmatched perfection and earned praises which also brought him in the limelight.

'Murder 3'



Randeep Hooda in Vishesh Bhatt's movie, Murder 3 has played the role of a hot shot fashion and wildlife photographer. As a lead role, he did justice to his character in the film. This psychological thriller was well appreciated by different critics and an overwhelming mixed response from the viewers.

'Rang Rasiya'



'Rang Rasiya' is a period drama based on Ranjeet Desai's novel 'Raja Ravi Varma'. His role in the movie was that of a painter who travels the entire country. Randeep says people in India consider award winning films getting nominated to film festivals are usually boring art movies. He negates this idea and says they represent a nationalistic picture.

'Highway'



In Imtyaz Ali directed film 'Highway', Randeep Hooda played the character of 'Mahabir Bhati', a gujjar whose past remained that of a criminal. For this role, Randeep made sincere efforts which eventually turned him out in flying colours. He even did not talk to Alia for 25 days to get totally buttoned up for the role. In the movie, he was seen being completely contained in the character which distinguishes him as an actor. This passion and desire for work shot the movie towards the glitter of success and earned him 'Stardust Award' for the Best Actor.
