1. Dream Girl: This one has to be the most cherished movie title in the list. It was during the mid 70’s when Hema Malini was endowed with the title of ‘Dream girl’ by her fans. It was in 1977, that she starred in the movie with the same name opposite her husband Dharmendra. Hema ji played five different characters in this movie where she was again cast opposite her real life love, Dharmendra. Dream Girl truly does sum up the magnetic charm that Hema Malini personifies.


2. Sholay: Hema's role of Basanti in Sholay has to be one of the most memorable characters in Bollywood history. Hema Malini’s superb comic timing, her adorable conversations with her horse Dhanno and the filmi 'Naach Basanti’ dance for Gabbar. Though there were big names like Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar associated with the film, ‘Sholay’ would have been incomplete without the lovely ‘Basanti’ and her antics.



3. Seeta Geeta: Her versatility and her vivaciousness shines so bright in the film as she effortlessly plays two twin sisters with completely different personalities who swap places. One can never get enough of watching the carefree, bubbly, super fun and rather brash Geeta who’s a street performer and has a blast teaching Seeta’s evil aunt a lesson.



4. Baghban: In 2003, Hema Malini starred opposite the megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the family drama - ‘Baghban’. Hema Malini looked convincing yet pretty in the role of a mother, and her pairing with Amitabh Bachchan garnered a lot of appreciation.



5. Satte Pe Satta: This movie was about seven uncivilized and unkempt brothers living on a farm. She played the role of a nurse, Indu, who tries to humanize the crazy brothers.

7. Andaz: After impressing the audience with her brilliant act in ‘Johny Mera Naam’, Hema Malini gave one of her finest performances in ‘Andaz’. The challenging role of a widow was carried out effortlessly by Hema. The presence of superstar Rajesh Khanna and Shammi Kapoor, didn’t overshadow her role in the film. This romantic flick gave Hema Malini the much needed exposure.
