Kangana made her debut in 2006 with director Anurag Basu in a leading role for ‘Gangster’ for which she was awarded with Filmfare Award for Best Female debutant.

Next year in 2007, Kangana was seen in Anurag Basu’s ‘Life In a Metro’ in which she was recognized with her subtle performance.

For ‘Fashion’ released in 2008, she was critically acclaimed for her role of drug addict. For this role, she was awarded with Filmfare award for Best supporting role for female.

In 2009, she did a thriller ‘Raaz-The Mystery Continues’ with Emraan Hashmi. The movie was the first commercial hit of 2009.

In 2010, Kangana was starred with Ajay Devgan in a lead role in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’. This movie was in the list of successful movies of that year.

For Kangana, 2011 was a very special year, she was seen opposite R.Madhavan in a romantic comedy ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ which was a huge success at box office. Kangana was nominated for Screen Aaward for Best Actress and Zee Cine Awards for Best Actor Female.

In ‘Krrish 3’, she played an evil mutant Kaya. Her performance was recognized with positive reviews and this film was ranked amongst highest-grossing movies of all time that year. She received IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie.

In 2014, ‘Queen’ gave her a new identity. This film gained critical acclaim with praise at 60th Filmfare Awards ceremony. Queen won six leading awards including, Best Film, Best Director and Best Actress.
