Some of Kapil's most talked about controversies:

Sunil Grover aka Gutthi was a sure shot success formula on Kapil Sharma's 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'. However, creative differences between Sunil and Kapil led to a major blow for the show due to which former was asked to leave. Kapil tried to rope in actor Gaurav Gera for the girlie act but failed to impress the audience. Meanwhile, Grover in several interviews said that he felt “underpaid” in the show and hence ventured out to earn better, thereby bringing their cold war out in the open.

According to some reports, the show may not be as spontaneous as it seems. It is believed that the celebrity guests are briefed in advance about what to say, do, and how to react. Among the audience, who will ask what question and will be asked to come on stage for antic is also pre-decided.

Kapil came into headlines after the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) fiasco, where he not only walked in two hours late on the opening day but also threw tantrum. These left the organisers furious because Kapil was allegedly paid a whopping amount of Rs 1.25 crore for this show.

One of Kapil’s biggest controversies came in the form of a tax soup. As per a report, Kapil had allegedly evaded tax up to Rs 60 lakhs.

Kapil’s three-film-deal with a leading production house was called off recently, with the comedian alleging that the constant delay in the shoot forced him to quit the project. The makers denied this allegations. Rumours suggested that Kapil was interfering in the script and that the makers were reportedly unable to convince any female actor to act alongside him which further fuelled the decision to put him off the project. However, Kapil is in talks with filmmaker duo Abbas-Mustan for their next.
