Karan Johar kick started his Bollywood debut with his first superhit movie ' Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' in 1998. After receiving various Filmfare Awards for best director and screenplay from his debut film success, Karan earned huge praise and recognition in the film industry.

Very few people know that the witty director is a mumma's boy. Karan is often seen enjoying quality time with his mother and he is very much emotionally attached to her.

It may surprise you but Karan's dad, Yash Johar always wanted to introduce his son to the film industry as an actor.

As an actor, Karan made his debut by appearing in supporting role in Shah Rukh Khan starrer movie 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge'. Besides, versatile Karan  even worked as an assistant director and costume designer for the same film.

Karan was very much obsessed and kind of superstitious for the alphabet 'K' as he thought that the letter is very lucky for him. So, this is the reason he made sure that his every film has the 'K' letter intact to its title.
