Pankaj Kapoor was a bright engineering student in Delhi. Later, he joined National School of Drama and completed his graduation in 1976. He had keen interest in acting and theatre. Pankaj Kapoor made his film debut in 1982 with Shyam Benegal's directorial movie 'Arohan'.

After his debut, Pankaj  appeared in many successful Bollywood movies like Kundan Shah's comedy classic 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' in 1983,  Saeed Akhtar Mirza's satirical 'Mohan Joshi Hazir Ho!' (1984), Mrinal Sen's hauntingly poignant 'Khandhar' (1984), Vidhu Vinod Chopra's suspense thriller 'Khamosh' in 1985 among others.



Fascinated with the small screen magic, Pankaj Kappor decided to switch to Television in 1986. The actor played the character of  Karamchand, in the  TV show 'Karamchand Jasoos'. The TV series was a huge hit and garnered praise and appreciation for the actor nationwide.

His another popular television comic satire series 'Office Office' bought him huge fame and success. His fans still remember him for his outstanding performance in the show.

Bollywood's charming and successful actor Shahid Kapoor is Pankaj's son by his first wife Neelima Azeem. After their divorce, Pankaj Kapoor married Supriya Pathak in 1984.

Undoubtedly, Pankaj Kapoor has made a remarkable contribution to Indian film and television industry. We wish the star a very happy birthday.
