Born in the family of singers, Sonu made an early entry in the musical world. His first stage performance was at the age of four when he joined his father Agam Kumar Nigam on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi's song 'Kya Hua Tera Wada'.

It is said that in 1995, when Sonu was hosting the show Sa Re Ga Ma, lyricist Javed Akhtar and music composer Anu Malik had suggested him against the show, but the singer went on with his decision and the show later became a big platform for him.

Legendary musician RD Burman was supposed to offer the famous song 'Ek ladki ko dekha to' from '1942 Love Story' to Sonu Nigam, but Kumar Sanu turned up on time at the recording studio.

Sonu Nigam proved that music has its own language and it can create a magic no matter what the language is. He is a multi linguistic singer who can proficiently sing in over 12 languages including Oriya, Tamil, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu and Nepali.

Sonu Nigam made his Bollywood debut as a lead with 2004 released movie 'Love in Nepal'. He also acted in movies like 'Kash Aap Hamare Hote' and 'Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani'.

Not only in India, but he is extremely famous in foreign countries so much that International stars like Avicci, David Guetta and Britney Spears have collaborated with our singing superstar.
