Chandigarh: After triggering a row by dubbing Hisar MP Kuldeep Bishnoi as a "fukra" (loafer), Haryana Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Sharma on Thursday attacked the HJC President again, saying he lacked maturity and was day-dreaming to become chief minister of the state one day.
Sharma, who on January 13, quashed the opposition Haryana Janhit Congress and INLD's disqualification petitions against five HJC MLAs, who had extended a crucial prop to the Hooda government in 2009, also advised Bishnoi to approach the High Court if he was not satisfied with the order on disqualification petitions rather than going to Lok Sabha Speaker on the issue.
However, Bishnoi, younger son of late Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, said Sharma has taken his recent letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar completely out of context.
In a letter to Bishnoi today, the Assembly Speaker said he has learnt about the HJC President's letter to the Lok Sabha Speaker. Sharma mentioned that if Bishnoi has any knowledge of the Constitution, "You (Bishnoi) should realise that Haryana Vidhan Sabha is an independent body and the Lok Sabha is not an appellate authority above it."
The Speaker wrote that this shows Bishnoi's "immaturity". He mentioned that the HJC leader was day-dreaming about becoming Haryana's Chief Minister in future and, therefore, is in the habit of building castles in the air just to keep hogging media headlines.
He advised Bishnoi that if was not satisfied with the Speaker's order, he should approach the High Court "rather than go to the Lok Sabha Speaker. You have not approached the High Court, but you are already knocking the door of the Lok Sabha Speaker".
Attacking Bishnoi, the Speaker reminded him of the HJC leader's alleged unparliamentary language against the Speaker. "Bishnoi had (earlier) said if the Speaker does not decide (the disqualification case soon), he will go to jail. That shows his shallowness, hollowness, lack of education," the Speaker said.
Asked to comment on Sharma's letter, Bishnoi said he was not surprised at the barbs used against him, but what has surprised him is that the context has been changed.
