New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party seems to have failed to evolve unanimity on several issues in both the Houses of Parliament. After the CVC case, BJP once again looked divided on the issue of Gujarat MoU with investors.

Arun Jaitley in the Rajya Sabha said that the income tax order for details on MoUs signed during a Vibrant Gujarat meet is an ‘assault’, while BJP leaders in Lok Sabha were not keen on the issue.

Taking a dig at the Centre, Jaitely said the IT order for details about the investors is political brinkmanship. BJP MP SS Ahluwalia said that w e raised the matter in the Rajya Sabha, which is also known as the council of States.

Justifying the Gujarat government’s stand on hosting Vibrant Gujarat meet Jaitley said, “Considering an unprecedented Rs 20.53 lakh crore promised for the investment in the summit, the state government has institutionalised a system of attracting investors through the annual meet.”

After four adjournments, Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan was forced to adjourn the Upper House for the day.
