Jaipur: Launching a scathing attack on Ashok Gehlot government over awarding the contract of operating ‘108 ambulance service’ to a new company run by the sons of two union ministers, the BJP on Tuesday accused the government of nepotism and demanded central probe into the matter.

While raising the issue during the question hour in the assembly, BJP MLAs Jaswant Singh, Digambar Singh and Ghanshyam Tiwari alleged the government of giving tender to the company whose directors were the kins of Home Minister P Chidambaram and Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi unfairly and without following proper bidding process. They also alleged that service conditions of the contract were also changed for the new operator.

Tiwari further alleged that the Rajasthan government is hatching a similar health scam as that of the multi-crore NRHM scam of Uttar Pradesh.

Dismissing all the allegations, Health Minister Duru Miyan said in the House that the Ziqitsa Healthcare Ltd was selected to operate the service in the state because its financial bid was the lowest. He further said that the BJP ruled states had also given the tenders to this company.
