Bhopal: In a unique display of political solidarity, both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress leaders shared a common dais to spread a message of unity among the Brahmins.

Brahmin leaders from both the parties advocated for social cohesiveness in society while addressing the Brahmin Conference held here at Gopal Bhawan on Saturday.

Senior Congress leader Suresh Pachauri said, “The Brahmins should unite and keep them away from sub-caste and class for strengthening the society.”

In an indirect attack on the Chouhan government, Pachauri said, “Brahmin is competent enough. If the state government does not pay attention to the community, the Centre will look after their interests.”

Madhya Pradesh Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma said, “At least one child should be imparted Sanskrit education. The society is losing its culture.”

Sharma assured the society to construct Poor Boys and Girls Homes in Bhopal.

State Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Gopal Bhargav was felicitated for his contribution in getting poor girls married.

Several prominent persons including Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Rameshchandra Sharma, Kailash Vajpayee and Ramakant Dubey were present on the occasion.
