Gurgaon: Firing salvo at the Congress in the wake of soaring corruption, the Bharatiya Janata Party received a jolt after it was accused of horse trading for the election of Mayor in Gurgaon civic polls.

The probe has been initiated in this matter and BJP President Nitin Gadkari has also directed for speedy inquiry into the matter.

A three-member team of senior leaders reached Gurgaon on Wednesday for investigating the matter. A few BJP councillors also faced charges of cross-voting.

The complainant revealed bank accounts showing transactions of Rs 1.90 crore for buying five councillors. The complainant, who is also the vice-president of East Block from youth Congress, was inducted in the BJP just before a day of election.

The BJP had claimed to make the complainant Mayor after winning the election. But, she was shocked after finding the poll results.

She accused two BJP councillors of taking Rs 1.90 crore for buying five councillors who did not vote for her.
