Kolkata: BJP on Thursday demanded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation in view of the series of scams unearthed during the UPA regime.

"We strongly feel the Prime Minister should take moral responsibility and resign,” BJP national general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan said.

Pradhan further said that his party would try to increase the number of its allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to "free the country from the Congress misrule".

Meanwhile, he said that the party would go solo in 2014 Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal. "For Bengal, we will fight the next Lok Sabha polls on our won strength, irrespective of the fact that we are a small force in the state,” he added.
