New Delhi: Miffed over party candidate’s humiliating defeat in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha by election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) high command has directed Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda to keep cordial relation with the party leaders and allies in the state. Munda has also been instructed to ensure the completion of pending projects at the earliest.

In the BJP core group meeting, senior leaders from state raised the issues of Munda government’s functioning and several other pending projects. Later BJP national president Nitin Gadkari discussed these issued with the CM and party’s state unit chief Dineshanand Goswami

The core group meeting mainly focused on the defeat of party candidate in Jamshedpur by election as the seat was vacated by Arjun Munda and party fielded its heavyweight Dineshanad Goshwami for the high profile seat. Therefore, the Jamshedpur by election seat became the issue of prestige for the party.

It is worth mentioning that BJP candidate lost his deposit and the seat was won by party’s arch rival Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM).

Sources said the question on the ruling alliance’s failure at Jharkhand to arrive on a consensus over fielding a common candidate was also discussed in the meeting. Some party members also alleged Munda of ignoring party parliamentarians of Jharkhand.

Rejecting Dineshanad Goswami resignation, the BJP central leadership has directed him to strengthen the party organization in Jharkhand.
