New Delhi: Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) failed to sweep the Uttarakhand assembly election, the factionalism in the Congress has given a ray of hope to the party to form government in the hill state.  The party has kept its doors open for the rebel leaders of the Congress considering the future possibilities.

Till Monday night, the disgruntled supporters of the Congress MP Harish Rawat remained in contact with the BJP leaders. If sources are to be believed, the BJP president Nitin Gadkari spoke to the Congress MP Harish Rawat on late Monday night.

However, denying the report the BJP general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan said the party is not scurrying to take steps in this direction. He further said that the government will collapse owing to its own weaknesses.

On the other hand ,the BJP has urged the rebellious MLAs to extend support to its candidate nominated for the post of Assembly Speaker. In return the party has hinted of helping Rawat in becoming the Chief Minister of the state.
