"The incidents which have taken place in Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir do not augur well for the country," BJP MP from Gorakhpur, Yogi Adityanath said in the Lok Sabha.

Adityanath claimed that the riots were an attempt to push back the state to the 1990s when Hindus were compelled to migrate from there. "The district authorities did not react to the situation. This is a very unfortunate incident," he said

Communal clashes in Kishtwar have claimed three lives. The clashes took place on August 9 after one group of people attacked another group raising pro-independence slogans. More than 80 shops, a petrol pump, an oil tanker, and some vehicles of the state police and fire department were torched.
