New Delhi: With the beginning of New Year, the BJP is all set to initiate the poll process for its national president. The poll process is likely to end by the third week of this month. In order to reach consensus on the name of national president, the party is likely to hold informal meeting in the national capital from Thursday. Senior RSS leader Dattatreya Hosabale will be present in Delhi during the meeting.

Nitin Gadkari had officially assumed the charge of party president on January16, 2010. Later, BJP national council on February 8, 2010 had given the green signal to the decision.

Now, this time the party is likely to take decision on the new president till official date for taking charge of party president.

The party has successfully conducted organizational polls in 13 states. Now, the poll will be held in Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand within January 10.

Most of the states are likely to get new faces as BJP chiefs. In order to consolidate Jat-Brahmin equation in its favour, the party is likely to name Ramvilash Sharma as the Haryana’s party unit chief. If Sharma takes charge of Haryana BJP chief, Captain Abhimanyu will look after the election management committee.

Presently, Ashwani Sharma and Kamal Sharma are also in the race for the Haryana party unit chief. Sources said that Ashwani has emerged as the main contender for the post of Haryana BJP chief.

As far as Uttarakhand is concerned, it will be easy for Tirath Singh Rawat to assume the state unit chief.

In politically important Bihar, present BJP chief CP Thakur don’t enjoy much support among the party workers. Either Radha Mohan Singh or Mangal Pandey will replace CP Thakur as Bihar BJP chief.

Caste factor is the main hurdle for Radha Mohan Singh as both Assembly Council Chairman and Deputy Chairman come from Kshatriya. National general secretary Dharmendra Pradhan has been dispatched to Bihar to oversee the poll process.

Jharkhand BJP president Dinashanand Goswami is likely to be replaced as he has failed to make a mark in the state.

Sources said that BJP’s organizational polls in states will be completed by January 10 so that national president can be elected after the January 14.
