Speaking about the meeting, party leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior party leader Lal Krishna Advani and newly appointed BJP president Amit Shah were present on the occasion.

The party leaders held discussion on upcoming by-polls to 18 assembly seats. These elections were necessitated due to a number of MLAs in various states got elected to the Lok Sabha in recently concluded general elections.

Notably, BJP’s national council will meet at Delhi on August 9 to ratify the appointment of Amit Shah as the party president.

Narendra Modi along with top BJP leaders will converge at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium lawns in the national capital to ratify Shah as the new party chief.

The national council meeting has been slated to be held in Delhi in view of the ongoing Parliament Session.

Shah had taken over as BJP chief on July 9 after Rajnath Singh resigned from the post, soon after his joining Narendra Modi Cabinet.
