Kolkata: Former NDA Minister Shahnawaz Hussain on Friday expressed hopes for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to emerge triumphant in West Bengal assembly polls.

Launching an attack against the Left Front government for ignoring the Muslim populace in the state, Hussain said, “Muslims have been used and ignored for long in the Left regime. The announcement of reservation for Muslims at the time of elections is nothing but a political gimmick adopted by the Left Front to charm the voters.”

He further said, “More than the reservation, there was a need for making arrangements of food and employment for them. There was a need for education for the Muslims. People want to remove the Left party in the state. Unfortunately, the party which is claiming to bring a wave of change in West Bengal is part of the corrupt Central Government.”
