Lucknow: The second leg of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jan Swabhiman Yatra, starting from November 9, won’t be that easy for the party. The BJP is in full swing to make it more effective and successful, especially in Awadh and Kanpur.

Handling the affairs of the Yatra, BJP national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday held a meeting with the party functionaries at the BJP’s headquarters and planned a strategy to make the Yatra successful.

BJP workers have been entrusted with the responsibility for garnering maximum support from their respective areas. He also hinted at distribution of party tickets based on the contribution of party workers in the Yatra.

Naqvi said that in a bid to make the public relations campaign more effective, the real picture of the corrupt government will be presented before the public.

It should be noted that the second phase of the BJP’s Yatra is more crucial as the party will criss-cross through those areas where it has a weak hold.

Going by the statistics of the last Assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections, the BJP had won 14 seats out of 138 assembly seats of Awadh and Kanpur.

The party had to face similar consequences during the last Lok Sabha polls also.

Meanwhile, in order to avoid any hindrance in the Yatra, the BJP recused itself from issuing the party candidate list.
