Chief Judicial Magistrate RB Pal granted the bail after Sinha's counsel Anil Kumar Sinha and Raj Kumar Raju moved the bail petition.

Besides Sinha, all his supporters were also granted bail by the court .

The BJP leader was on June 3 arrested along with 300 party workers for allegedly assaulting a Jharkhand State Electricity Board official over power crisis in the state.

Sinha applied for bail today, a day after senior BJP patriarch LK Advani met him in Hazaribagh jail and said the Jharkhand leader ‘is the right person to be Chief Minister after the assembly elections later this year’.

Advani had said that Sinha should leave jail after securing bail and lead the ongoing agitation by the BJP against power crisis in Jharkhand.

76-year-old BJP leader had earlier admitted before the media that he instructed the party's women activists to tie up JSEB's Hazaribagh branch General Manager Dhanesh Jha using a rope.

On June 12, BJP president Rajnath Singh's emissaries -- Shahnawaz Hussain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy -- had met Sinha and urged him to obtain bail and participate in the party’s statewide agitation.
