New Delhi: Even as the Bharatiya Janta Party high command has decided to field some top brass leaders in the forthcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, several BJP stalwarts having stronghold in their respective constituencies expressed their displeasure on it.

Going with strategy of contesting elections under joint leadership instead of projecting a candidate for the post of Chief Minister, the BJP has invited some trouble. According to the sources, party members are of the opinion that by allowing Uma Bharti to contest election from UP will give wrong message. It is due to this reason, some party leaders have taken backseat in preparation of assembly elections.

In a two-day meeting, the members of the party core group faced difficulties when resentment over several seats came into light, especially among the candidates of eastern UP.
