Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive here shortly.

Briefing the media about Munde’s demise, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari earlier in the day said that his body will be kept at the BJP headquarters before being taken to his native village Parli in Maharashtra.

As a mark of respect to Munde, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in the national capital, capitals of states and union territories on Tuesday.

His cremation would take place on Wednesday.

The tragic incident took place when 64-year-old Munde was on his way to airport in his car. His vehicle was hit by another car at around 6:30 am at Prithviraj-Tughlak Road.
