Party sources said that the BJP's top leadership is unlikely to discuss the seats in Uttar Pradesh and will finalize its candidates of other big states like Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Assam and other North Eastern states which go to polls in the first and second phase on April 7 and 9.
Senior party leaders Lal Krishna Advani, Rajnath Singh, Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj and Murli Manohar Joshi besides others will meet here to discuss and finalize the party's list of candidates.
The next meeting of the party leadership to finalize the candidates will be held next week before Holi.

The western Uttar Pradesh, which will go to polls on April 10, the state unit of the BJP is waiting for the names of the candidates to be declared.

The saffron outfit party will contest on 10 western UP seats in the upcoming polls including Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad and Aligarh.

Currently there are two BJP MPs in the state - party president Rajnath Singh from Ghaziabad and Rajendra Agarwal from Meerut, both in western Uttar Pradesh.

Rajnath Singh, party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and other senior leaders will also be present in the meeting.
