New Delhi: The principal Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to announce its second list of candidates for coming Lok Sabha elections on March 8.

Sources said party's Central Election Committee chaired by party president Rajnath Singh will be held on March 8 to discuss and decide on the candidates from bigger states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

Party’s poll panel comprises senior party leader LK Advani, party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her Rajya Sabha counterpart Arun Jaitley.

The party has already declared its first list of 54 candidates on February 27.

Kalyan Singh appointed party vice-president

BJP president Rajnath Singh announced the appointment of Kalyan Singh as party's vice president with immediate effect.

Kalyan Singh was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh when the Babri mosque was demolished in 1992.
