"BJP always take a U-turn on all the political issues, they have joined hands with the separatists in Kashmir. The party should clear its stand on Article 370," senior Congress leader and state minister Sham Lal Sharma said while addressing election rallies in Akhnoor on Friday.

He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of shattering the hopes of the people of the country who elect him.

"BJP is pursuing the agenda of National Conference and the Hurriyat Conference as they have joined hands with the separatists for petty political gains. Narendra Modi has shattered the hopes of the people who elected him to become the Prime Minister of the country," Sharma said.

Terming the BJP a house divided, Sharma accused the party of betraying the people of Jammu region, "They have publically admitted their soft corner towards Kashmir centric parties and they are now even demanding the revocation of AFSPA to appease the pro-Pakistani groups. They are also patronising militant outfits in the valley for electoral gain," he said.

He said Modi even failed to raise the slogan of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Jai Hind" during his rally in Srinagar.

While urging the electors to vote for Congress, Sharma said, "Congress is the saviour of the interest of the common people. In our manifesto we have promised regional development councils and reservations for border residents which would provide equitable share in developmental funds and government employment opportunities to all."
