Amit Shah also provided details on why the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha from the current hot-seat of the national political horizon – Varanasi.

According to Amit Shah, people of multiple religious faith reside in Varanasi and it’s a symbol of mini-India and Modi contesting from this holy city will play a key factor in galvanizing the entire nation.

Shah also claimed that Modi will not only win by record votes but would also cross the magic figure of 272 and form the government at Centre.  He also added that Uttar Pradesh will act as the foundation of National Democratic Alliance and Varanasi will add teeth to the base.

Shah, however, was caught off-guard by a sudden googly when the media started asking him questions related to water crisis. Shah, who was not expecting the question, however kept his cool and said that Narendra Modi will take steps to cleanse Varuna and Asi rivers in his local agenda.

On being asked why the people of Varanasi will vote for Modi, Amit Shah said that Modi has done a lot giving impetus to urban development and improve the condition of rivers in his home state Gujarat and cited the example of River Sabarmati in this context.

Shah also assured that Modi will also infuse a new breath of life in the Varuna and Asi rivers. He also said that there is no discontent in the party over distribution of tickets and things are pretty balanced in the saffron camp.
