Somnath: The BJP candidates are facing tough fight in Somnath-Dwarka, the epicenter of the saffron party’s several movements. The BJP rebels are giving sleepless night to the party candidate in Somnath, while the delimitation has put the spook in the wheel of the saffron party candidate in Dwarka.
Somnath has religious importance, but the BJP links it with nationalism. Chief Minister Narendra Modi himself had launched poll campaign from Somnath. The BJP is likely to lose the prestigious seat due to political bickering in the party. BJP’s official candidate is facing challenge from two party rebels.
The caste equation is also against the current BJP MLA. After the delimitation, the Ahir voters have become decisive in Dwarka.
In a changed caste equation, the Congress has fielded Kadubhai Kandoria of Ahir community from Dwarka assembly constituency, while the BJP gave ticket to five-time MLA Pabubha Manek. He belongs to Vagher (Kshatriya) community.
