Chennai: BJP has rushed to the rescue of veteran film actor Kamal Haasan, who is purportedly bruised over Tamil Nadu government’s bid to ban his film Vishwaroopam, following his assertion to leave the country if he was denied justice.

Newly appointed president of the BJP, Rajnath Singh, on Wednesday said that the ace actor don’t need to leave the country advising that everyone has to abide by the rulings of court.

Earlier, Haasan had alleged that he was being victimised due to political reasons. He had also added that no film is made to disturb communal harmony and destroy the unity of the nation. He also said that he wanted to see a secular country.

Earlier on Tuesday evening, Madras High Court lifted the ban on the release of his film vishwaroopam following which the Tamil Nadu government moved to a double bench of the court seeking restoration of ban claiming that release of the film can create law and order problem in the state.

Some people from Muslim community are protesting against the release of the film saying that the community has been presented in bad light.

The film was released in the state amidst tight security in the state with enforcement of section 144 outside all the theatres.
