New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday announced an alliance with Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC), a breakaway faction of the Congress founded by former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal.

The alliance was announced at a joint press conference addressed by BJP president Nitin Gadkari, party leader Sushma Swaraj and HJC founder's son Kuldeep Bishnoi.

“The alliance will come back to power in the state and win all 10 Lok Sabha seats as well,” said Gadkari.

The alliance will contest the upcoming Lok Sabha by-election in Hisar, the constituency which became vacant after the death of Bhajan Lal June 3.

The HJC was started in 2007 as a breakaway faction of the Congress.
