New Delhi: With the release of second list of party candidates, the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to field its several prominent leaders along with fielding young generation in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

The BJP core group on Tuesday held a long discussion over the selection of candidates which will be given final touches in the meeting of central election committee to be held on December 22.

Earlier, the BJP approved the first list of 143 candidates released in the last week. The party leaders are facing difficulty in selecting the candidates for the remaining seats.

The party had named about half a dozen senior leaders in the first list to boost the morale of party workers. BJP is mounting pressure on Rajya Sabha MP Vinay Katiyar who is unwilling to contest Assembly elections.

The saffron party is also contemplating to field former Union Minister Ashok Pradhan, Lalji Tandon’s son Gopal Tandon, Rajnath Singh’s son Pankaj Singh in the Assembly polls.
