She also came down heavily on the BJP, saying the Opposition can stoop down to any level for grabbing power at the Centre.
Despite poor attendance at the rally venue, Sonia looked confident and asked the crowd whether the BJP has possessed any magic wand by which it can solve all problems of the nation.
“The BJP, which is dreaming of coming into power, is knowingly belittling the works done by the UPA government in its tenure. They deceive the people by telling false stories. The nation is going through tough times. It is an imperative challenge to secure the future of the present generation,” she added.
In her endeavor to build an emotional bonding with the people, Sonia mentioned former prime minister Indira Gandhi in her speech. She said that the nationalization of mines was done by the Congress, adding that her party will work for the development of mine workers if it gets a third term.
Enthralling Muslims, Sonia said the Congress is working on the recommendations made by the Sachar Committee.
Moreover, she mentioned that her party is also paying adequate attention on female education at the Madrasas.
She further said the UPA will provide free health aid to all if it forms the government again.
While concluding her speech, Sonia made the gathering chant slogan of ‘Jai Hind’ thrice on the lines of Modi.
During Sonia’s rally in Jharkhand, no leaders of JMM or RJD were seen on the stage.
When asked about the less attendance at the rally, Congress in-charge of Jharkhand BK Hari Prasad said that the people did not turn up because of the scorching heat.
