New Delhi, Jan 05 (Agencies): Intensifying its campaign against the government after the Bofors pay-offs issue resurfaced, BJP on Wednesday chalked out a strategy to target the Congress leadership on corruption.

The party decided to pass a resolution at its National Executive meeting at Guwahati later this week, attacking the UPA government on the issue of corruption.

"BJP is concerned at the complete indifference of the UPA government despite such corruption cases being exposed. After the ITAT (Income Tax tribunal) decision (on Bofors), it has become clear that those close to the Congress leadership, where the names of Ottavio Quattrochi and Win Chaddha also come in, have received kickbacks in Bofors case," Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said.

He was talking to the media after the meeting of BJP National Core Group on which discussed "at length the spate of corruption cases coming out under the UPA rule".

The principal opposition also insisted that the Prime Minister and the Congress leadership were answerable to the nation on the Bofors issue.

"BJP will pass an exclusive resolution at our National Executive on the increased cases of corruption in the UPA government," Jaitley said.

The National Executive would also discuss the strategyfor making BJP rallies against corruption, planned to be held in different state capitals, a bigger success in the wake of the fresh revelations.

When the rallies were mooted, the 2-G Spectrum allocation scam, along with Commonwealth Games and Adarsh Housing Society, was in focus.

Now, the Bofors kickbacks case seems to have become the main issue, mainly as it takes the opposition attack to the doorstep of the Congress top leadership.
