New Delhi: After compelling Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to step down for his alleged involvement in the illegal mining scam, the Bharatiya Janata Party is in a stronger position to take on arch-rival the Congress over the issue of corruption.

The latest CAG report on CWG has given the long awaited golden opportunity to the saffron party to attack the Centre and the Delhi government. The core group of the BJP Parliamentary Party met under the leadership of LK Advani to decide its strategies on these issues.

The Party held discussion over the CAG report, which raised finger at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for appointing Suresh Kalmadi as the Chairman of the CWG Organizing Committee and indicted Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the various projects related to the preparations of the international sports event.

The party has devised the strategy to take on the Centre on various issues that emerged out from the Constitutional Body’s report. The strategy would be revealed in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) meeting scheduled on Monday.

The Congress core group has firmly stood behind Dikshit over the CAG report citing it would be placed before the Parliament Accounts Committee (PAC). The Congress stand on Dikshit has revitalized the BJP to launch a string of fresh attacks on the former.

Deputy leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, SS Ahluwalia told reporters “Several issues including land acquisition have been discussed in the meeting. The party will unveil its strategy after a meeting of the NDA on Monday.”

The BJP will try to intensify the campaign against the Congress which has already rejected the PAC report on 2G spectrum.
